Your Darkness draws me in

I feel like I’ve been drawn like a magnet to the darkness inside the men I’ve loved…I feel like they are afraid that I will want to illuminate it, fill it with light. To shed light on the things they keep hidden locked away in those shadows of their heart.

Little did they know was that I find comfort their too…that I also have darkness inside & always have.

Everyone has some darkness inside of them. Instead of hiding it, use it to make the light we have inside become more distinct.

How else can stars light up the night if there is not darkness for them to lie in comfort with?

That’s how I feel.

When I’m laying in his arms & he’s troubled…

I just want to lay my head on his chest, hearing the steady beat of his heart…

Feeling comfort that he’s right there next to me, even when he’s troubled by life or his inner demons.

That having me their holding his hand with my head on his chest is just enough comfort to know that I can sit with him in his darkness.

To know that he can find comfort in the light even while he sits in his darkness.

That the real illumination is when we can sit in our darkness together…and feel love & comfort.
